Sega's Go Dance brings motion-sensing gameplay to iOS

Sega announced the availability of Go Dance for iPhone and iPad today, which looks like it will play a lot like Dance Central. Players have to follow the moves being shown on their device's screen in time with the music, and are scored based on how closely they mimic the dance. The song selection looks solid enough - LMFAO, Flo Rida, and Nicki Minaj all make an appearance, with more tracks on the way. There's AirPlay support too, if you want to see everything on the big screen. Over time, players can customize their on-screen dancer, get new songs, and compete with friends on leaderboards.

I was never really into the Just Dance games, but the technology employed by Xbox Kinect has always been impressive. I'd be even more impressed if a dedicated front-facing smartphone or tablet camera can achieve the same results with a software solution. Whether or not anybody has a burning urge to dance-game while on the go is another issue altogether; I've barely played Dance Central on Xbox, and when I have, it's been sheltered in my own home, as far away from prying eyes as possible.

Interesting idea, but is anyone biting?
